Mould Making and Slip Casting Workshop.

Join Laura from Mennt. in her Marrickville studio to learn the process of plaster mould making and slip casting with porcelain.

The morning will begin with learning the fundamentals of slip casting by working with Laura's existing plaster moulds. Each participant will get the chance to cast both a Mennt cup and plate using porcelain. This will introduce you to the casting process and teach you tips and tricks to cast successfully.

While the porcelain casts are left to dry and release from their mould we will begin the process of designing and creating two of your own one-piece plaster moulds.

By the afternoon you will have two complete plaster moulds to take home perfect to continue your slip casting journey.

This workshop will take around five hours with a half-hour break for lunch and will include afternoon tea and juice or tea making it ideal to book with a friend or a great chance to get to know other like-minded creatives.

Please note this listing used to be separated over two dates, two weeks apart however due to COVID causing cancellations and the need for flexibility this listing has been modified to suit a longer one day class.
